Double Double Oaked is handcrafted by finishing fully-mature Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Bourbon for an additional two years in a second, heavily toasted, lightly charred, new oak barrel (hence the name Double Double Oaked).

The extra time in the barrel creates a bourbon that is distinctly spicier than its original counterpart, which is known for its sweeter taste and finish.

How to use

Tasting Notes

COLOR: Roasted coffee bean

AROMA: A robust medley of rich maple syrup, dark butterscotch, brittle caramel, bittersweet chocolate, burnt marshmallow, and sweet hickory smoke notes dominate the nose.

TASTE: Rich dried cherry and cranberry fruit swim in a blackberry jam brightened with hints of ripe apple. Chai tea and warming clove notes develop to spice up the palate.

FINISH: Warm and drying with a lingering clove character.

    2025 Double Double Oaked WR

    Being a lifelong Kentucky Colonel, I take absolute pride in all things from Kentucky. Just received my Woodford Reserve Double Double Oaked barrel finished select 2025 release. This latest edition is an elegant addition to my bourbon collection. I am old school meaning I purchased to enjoy not to profile with fancy descriptions. WR 2x Oaked is a wonderful pour that I have shared with family and friends during 2026 winter storms. Premium bourbons are like our gorgeous Kentucky ladies, enjoyment comes from their very presence in our lives. I recommend this release, thanks WR for warming up very cold nights.

    I think DDO neat is the tops.

    I wish I had a bottle(s) of the "Three Grain" release I purchased a couple times from the gift shop. I think 2017 and 2019 were the years. I bought the more recent "Four Grain" release, but that 3 Grain was a winner in my opinion.
